Linette dressed for her traditional Maasai wedding.
We went away for a few days to relax before things get busy here. It was a nice rest. Today Nairobi closed the city. Residents can move around within the city, but no one can go in or out for 21 days. The president gave about a 5 hour notice! We have only around 150 cases in Kenya. I have a young doctor working in our department. I consulted my colleagues, and I called her urgently and told her to get home to Nairobi by 7 PM which is when Kenya curfew starts and the city was going to be locked down. The concern was that Linette is getting married on Saturday! We had to get her home for her wedding before she was locked out of Nairobi for three weeks. She has already had to downsize the event, but I am so glad she will not miss it completely. She had no idea of the announcement when I called her. To say she was eager to get home is probably an understatement. I checked to make sure she was home, and she replied “Yessssss traffic was crazy… Guess I’m not the only one going to a lock down location ASAP 😂”
