Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

With great sincerity and thanks, we hope that this email finds you doing well in every way, and if not, that you are finding peace in the love of God, our great comforter. We are writing to provide an update on our ministry.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

What an incredible year it has been. On New Year’s Day, 2016, we were climbing the ruins of Machu Picchu with Will’s family as they came to visit us in Curahuasi, Peru, right before we left to move back to the United States. We will end the year at Kijabe Mission Hospital overlooking the Great Rift Valley in Kijabe, Kenya. In between, we lived for 6 months in the great state of Texas. Will worked in emergency rooms throughout rural Texas, renewed his medical license, completed a lot of continuing medical education, sat for the renewal exams for his Board Certification in Family Medicine (he passed), and updated Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Advanced Trauma Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support certifications. His time in Kenya started in August with Swahili language lessons, with work in the busy obstetrics and out-patient departments following close behind. It has been a year of change, and Will is thankful that God continues to allow him to be used for his service.

Allison is teaching 9th grade English at Rift Valley Academy. She enjoys her classes, the subject matter, and especially caring for all of her students. RVA is a boarding school designed specifically for missionary kids who come from hard places to live in Africa. Their parents have made the difficult decision that it is better for their kids to be educated and socialized well in Kijabe rather than to stay home in small rural African communities or cities in sensitive political or religious situations. Allison, along with a great group of teachers, administrators, counselors, and missionary staff at the school, try their best to make sure these kids know the love of God.  Allison is glad to serve these students and parents and finds the challenge of teaching stimulating.

The kids are doing well in their third school on their third continent in less than 12 months. It is a lot of change, and there have certainly been some bumps along the way. But we are continually impressed by their resiliency. The girls are enjoying their friends and classes in the grade school, Peter is excited about opportunities in Rift Valley Academy’s music department, and David is out all day and night running around Kijabe with his friends. The eternal springtime of Kijabe allows for a lot of outdoor time and exploring. We are thankful for that!

And we are thankful for you who have shown interest in us over the years and who have supported us in all these different places and ministries. We thank our God when we remember you. Do not believe that you are ever taken for granted. Thank you again!
