Saying Goodbye

Udo and Barbara Klemenz are leaving.  I never knew them well.  Barbara did not really speak English or Spanish.  Udo spoke both, but because I am working in the medical area, and he was in construction, our paths barely crossed.  That said, it will be sad to see them leave.  They are an important part of everything that has happened here.  You can read a little more of their story at this Diospi Suyana Hospital link.

Grateful words for the Klemenz family

During yesterday’s school church service, both pupils and teachers expressed their gratefulness towards Udo and Barbara Klemenz for their huge part in building the school.  As a gift, the civil engineer received a large photograph of the pupils forming his name.  The Klemenz family have fulfilled their mission in a most impressive way.  Now their bags are packed and the taxi to Cusco is booked for their return journey back to Germany.  They will be greatly missed.
